I’m still trying to catch up with all things Clone Wars related – still haven’t quite got round to reading the tie-in online comics, despite a helpful reminder from Homing Beacon #250.
Episode #5 was, like #1, another Clone-centric episode and one that I enjoyed greatly. I don’t have specific thoughts to post but I managed to get a chance to watch it whilst flying back from Japan and the sentiment of the story really made an impact on me…certainly more so than the three episodes of Ewoks I watched!
Both episodes #6 and #7 seem to feature a lot more break-beats than earlier Star Wars instalments. #6 was a bit slow but #7 picked up nicely – there seems to be a pattern with these mult-ipart CW stories where the initial set-up episode is always slower and less interesting than the events that follow. I can’t help but wonder if the creative team could have benefited from a bit more time in editing rather than stretching both this storyline and the Malevolence arc into multi-parters.
I was mildly surprised at R3’s inability to fly. I never liked the introduction of R2’s boosters but now that Lego Star Wars has won me over, I can’t help but think of this as a standard feature for all astromech droids.
I also wondered if the ‘South Landing Bay’ the Twilight lands at was an Aliens reference? No way to answer that I guess!
More thoughts next week…but hopefully, before then, I’ll get some time to type my thoughts of Star Tours!
